NIGHT
Night is a book about the holocaust written by Elie Wiesel. It talks about his own experiences in the concentration camp he was held in. He was separated from his mother and sister, but not from his father. Along the story, Elie and his father do everything in their power to be together and survive. The book is filled with horrible things the Nazis did to the Jewish people and all of the obstacles he and his father had to face in order to survive, while being together.
I think the book was really good because besides providing information about the holocaust, it also tells the story in a way that makes you want to read more and wonder if Elie and His father are going to be separated. I really liked the strength both characters had throughout the story because it must require a lot of it going through all that hard work and watching people die everyday, like it means nothing. I also liked reading it because with the exception of Life is Beautiful, I hadn't seen a movie or read a book about the holocaust. I would recommend this book to people from 14 and older because it has many impacting scenes that younger people wouldn't like.

TOPIC EVIDENCE FROM STORY
Death "´...And the flames, do you see them? (Yes, we saw the flames.) "Over there, that's where they will take you. Over there will be your grave. You still don't understand? Don't you understand anything? You wil be burned! Burned to a cin-der! Turned into ashes!´" (P. 31)
Cruelty "Not far from us, flames, huge flames, were rising from a ditch. Something was being burned there. A truck drew close and unloaded its hold: small children. Babies! Yes, I did see this, with my own eyes...chil-dren thrown into the flames" (P. 32)
Religion "Someone began to recite Kaddish, the prayer for the dead. I don't know wether, during the history of the Jewish people, men have ever before recited" (P. 33)
Sadness "Somewere crying. They used whatever
strength they had left to cry. Why had they let themselves be brought here? Why didn't they die in their beds? Their words were
interspersed with sobs." (P. 35)
